Photos: JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF (including 16-bit) and BMP, up to 200 MB each. Phone photos are rotated correctly automatically. HEIC files from iPhones aren't supported yet; export them as JPEG first. Videos: MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM, up to 4K.

Scan prints at 600 dpi (1200 dpi for small prints) in color mode, and keep a TIFF master. Our scanning guide covers scanners, phones, slides and negatives.

Yes. Ungray uses only the brightness of the photo and adds new color, so it works on faded color prints and sepia-toned photos too. The original color information is replaced, not restored.

Yes. Click Recolor a part of the photo, pick a color, then tap the area (Tap to fill) or paint over it (Brush). "Area spread" controls how far a tap spreads. Undo and Reset are always there. Only color changes; detail and shading stay exactly as photographed.

Natural is the model's own estimate. Subtle lowers color strength by 15% for a gentler, period look. Vivid raises it by 15%. Warm adds a soft golden tone. Styles apply instantly and carry over to your full-resolution download.

No. Ungray keeps the original light and shadow of every pixel and only adds color, so faces, text, grain and fine detail stay exactly as they were. Upscaling adds sharpness when enlarging, which is a separate, optional step.

They are an educated estimate. Skies, skin, foliage and water are reliable; clothes, cars and painted walls are plausible guesses. If you know the real color, use Recolor, and label colorized copies when accuracy matters.

Yes. In the Upscale tab, enlarge any photo 2× or 4×, or tick "Also enlarge" when colorizing to do both in one step. The result can be up to 120 megapixels.

The free preview is 1024 px on the long side with a small watermark. HD is the full resolution of your upload (or larger if you upscale), without a watermark, and uses one credit.

No. Credits from photo packs never expire, and re-downloading a result you already paid for is free.

Yes. Click Get the credit back under the download button and the credit returns to your account. If several photos come out badly, tell us through the contact page; we look at every report.

In your account, any time. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. We email you before every yearly renewal, so there are no surprise charges.

Unused photo packs can be refunded within 14 days. A forgotten subscription renewal you haven't used can be refunded within 14 days too. See the terms for details.

$1 per minute of footage at up to 1080p and $2 per minute at 4K, billed per second with a $1 minimum. You see the price before you pay, and the first 15 seconds are a free preview. Pro includes 20 minutes a month.

Ungray carries colors along the motion from frame to frame, so skies and faces stay steady. Colors reset at scene cuts, so each new shot gets fresh colors.

Yes. The original audio track and timing are copied into the colorized video.

They're deleted automatically: photos after 24 hours, videos after 7 days, unless you save them to your library on a paid plan. We never sell them and never use them to train our models. Details in the privacy policy.

Anyone with the link can see the watermarked before/after preview for 7 days. Your full-resolution file stays private.

Uploads delete themselves. To delete your account and everything with it, write to us from the contact page.
